Can I count on a metal roof during the winter?

A: Even more so! Metal roofs work tremendously during the brisk months of winter thanks to their ability to create an air barrier of cool condensed air that traps hot air during the winter. No need to worry about going to bed with three or four blankets!

Are there ridge vents for metal roofing?

A: Metal ridge vents are installed with wire mesh frames to keep unwanted creatures like birds and bats out of your attic while inviting plenty of fresh air inside your home.

What about costs compared to a traditional roof?

A: This is one of the most common misconceptions. While metal roofs cost more up front they always cost less over time because of the lack of maintenance and replacement. A: When it comes lightning, a standing seam metal roof is no different than any other roof. Lightning is attracted to the highest point in a given area, typically a tree. However, if a metal roof is struck by lightning it will actually dissipate the charge and won’t catch on fire like a traditional roof would!

Is a Standing Seam Metal Roof noisier than Shingle roofing?

A: No, this is another misconception. Metal roofs typically have underlayments, plywood, airspace, attic space, and insulation compared to the old tin roofs that were installed over rafters.
